See two of Atlanta's most interesting suburbs located just 5-10 miles north of I-285. Enjoy antebellum charm by visiting Bulloch Hall in Roswell, a circa 1840 Greek Revival mansion where Mittie Bullock married Theodore Roosevelt in 1853. Their son Teddy went on to become the 26th president of the United States. Drive by other Roswell antebellum mansions and see the remaining cotton mill buildings, the industry developed by the town's founder, Roswell King. Drive through Alpharetta's beautiful horse country and experience the town's transition from a sleepy rural cotton community into a modern high-tech business center. Drive past the Mansell House, a circa 1910 Victorian-era farm house, and an authentic log cabin, and many of the new high-tech computer industry office buildings that dominate the landscape today.
Lunch at a fun restaurant in one of Alpharetta's quaint shopping districts. Three-four hours (allow five to six hours for Bulloch Hall and lunch).
